About Us

Great solutions begin with a need.

Dr. Barry David, DVM, a practicing equine veterinarian based in Lexington, Kentucky, had long been searching for a way to deliver targeted cryotherapy with mobility and ease of use. Traditional cooling methods prevented mobility and were ineffectively. Through years of hands-on experience and rigorous field testing, both locally in Kentucky and with equine professionals around the world, the first CryoStride™ Cooling Boots were developed.

Each boot features an integrated neoprene hoof glove and shin brace, securing a lightweight outer shell made from breathable polyester canvas. The design opens easily with a durable zipper, providing ample space to fill with ice while maintaining a secure, anatomical fit. The result is an industry-leading design that delivers precision cooling, while allowing horses to move freely and comfortably during treatment.

Today, CryoStride™ has grown into a trusted partner of leading global equine veterinary schools and clinics through the company founders Joan Gariboldi and Suzy Orr. Backed by active involvement in equine medical services and daily care, we continue to refine our products with one mission in mind: to provide simple, effective, and life-saving solutions for horses when every second counts.

About the Founders - Joan Gariboldi DVM

For Joan, a practicing veterinarian specializing in sport horse medicine, the journey started as a child when she cared for a pony with laminitis. That early experience sparked a lifelong commitment to understanding and treating this devastating condition. Today, Joan not only runs her own veterinary practice but also manages a farm where she boards medically challenged retirees, who are often the most at risk for laminitis. These horses have been both her patients and her partners in the development of CryoStride™ boots.
